The only drawback is that it is not internet connected, and can only be accessed via local bluetooth. The plus to that is that it should be more secure, but does not allow you to add a user if you are not home. The workaround for that would be to add some "Guest" codes to hand out as needed, and delete if needed.

I use IFTTT to do the following

• Send text message every time my Ring Doorbell detects motion.
• Send text message every time the August door lock is un-locked.

• CAT5 = 220ft
• CAT6 = 300ft
• CAT7 = ?

Expensive cables are "riser", "shielded" and "plenum", you don't need them for homes.

Do NOT buy "CCA", Copper Clad Aluminum -- Junk

When getting cable get CAT5E, it is 100% copper, stay away from CCA.
